To a lot of people, rabbits are pests which eat your plants or eat crops on farms. But to many others they are lovable pets that we want to do the best for. And what better way than to give them somewhere to live that they can call their own.
It's very common for rabbits to live outside, usually cooped up in a small cage, or rabbit hutch. Sometimes the rabbit never gets out of this hutch and has to spend its whole life being unable to run around. Lots of other rabbits are luckier and get to play in the garden, either in a purpose built run, or the whole garden; which is possible if you take care with your gates and fencing.
Many people do not realise that a rabbit can be house-trained in much the same way as a cat. It's not a comon sight, but there are a lot of rabbits living indoors, just as if they were cats. Sometimes they live in an indoor rabbit cage but some rabbits will have the freedom of the whole house, just like cats.
Rabbits definitely make lovely pets and it is wonderful to have them inside the house with you. If you are think that an indoor rabbit might be for you, it is recommended that you have an indoor rabbit hutch too, even if it is going to spend most of its time outside it. There will always be times when you need to keep your pet in one place. This might be when you go out, or perhaps when you have a visitor who isn't all that comfortable around rabbits. Your rabbit will also really appreciate having its own little space to call its own.
When you go to choose your indoor rabbit cage, it's always best to try to get the biggest that you can reasonably fit into your house so that your rabbit has enough room to move around comfortably. You can also consider making your own rabbit hutch if you are good at DIY.
Getting the right rabbit hutch for your indoor rabbit should give you and your rabbit the best chance of enjoying each other's company.
